Day 22

WasteManager: Operation clean up Mana continues. He has three systems left which I have fleets on the way to clear up. Poseidon is backing up his flank against me, and I have no doubt him and Miker are in alliance. I think I have to persuade Miker to attack him first – to take the brunt of the defense. Problem is he can easily refuse, citing Ironcock as too much of a problem. but maybe if Ironcock persuaded Poseidon to attack Miker at the same time… |

Max Ironcock: Dante, Miker and even Ludo attack me. I beat them all back. I capture the juicy home worlds and Dante knows he’s beat, but is determined to make my life as difficult as possible. To this end he gifts my far superior weapons that I gave him to everyone he can. This is rather annoying as most people were still drifting around 10ws maximum, but he went and took everybody up to 12. Still, I was on 14ws by this point. My labcoat turtles put everyone else to shame, whilst my shell makes me impervious to backstabbing attempts. |

Poseison: I recalled ships from my Southern systems in anticipation. I knew that I would be at a disadvantage in terms of numbers, yet my ships were fleeter than his and, with some careful planning, I might be able to meet his attack and turn it. Miker huddled below me. He was weakened but he still had enough ships to be a serious pain should he choose to attack. I messaged him to suggest that he go after whoever struck at me first. There would be time enough to exact slow torture on the insectoid once this was all over. |

Dante: I’m done, spent, and the end is coming from such a cruel and unfair direction even my unbreakable spirit is being slowly crushed. There’s only one thing for it, activate Operation: Post Mortem Revenge. I arrange my fleets to make him pay for every inch of my territory he takes, meanwhile I gift all the weapons tech he traded me to the other players, along with big bundles of cash, with only the proviso that they take Ironcock to the cleaners. As a final stroke I push the industry on my central planets up to twelve and gift them to Poseidon. Or I would have, but the game inexplicably didn’t let me gift planets, despite the fact that others had the option. Instead I’ve just given Ironcock two prime worlds. Fuck. What’s that noise outside? Some sort of unruly mob you say? Preposterous! Rebellion? Against me? Do they know who I am!? Everything I did, I did for the people! Heironymous Dante |

Miker: Ironcock has wiped Dante off of the map, unsurprisingly. I’ve been left alive, and with a reasonable number of ships remaining in my original sector, I’ve been courted by Poseidon and WasteManager to “go out with a bang” and throw my ships at Ironcock so that one of them can take advantage of a possible weakness. One look at the numbers tells me that my ships won’t make the tiniest of dents in Ironcock’s force, so I don’t bother replying to their messages. |

“though pleased I managed to beat both Dante and Miker the fact I even had to in the first place leaves me cold.”
You didn’t have to you traitorous bastard! I was on your side!
Reading back, I think I could’ve attacked Ironcock earlier and had a chance, but the moment slipped by me and he became too strong to challenge. The last part of the game was all about placing second and surviving.
Orpheus could’ve told me this if I’d visited him earlier.
