Bit of a different line up for episode 11; Tom and Thom are off playing foot-to-ball in this ‘outside’ place they often talk about so instead me Paul and Ed are joined by the one and only Richard Cobbett. We talk about such things as Alpha Protocol, Metro 2033, Lord of Ultima, whether there will be any new Adventure games franchises, and finally micro payments. It’s a fun time. Also we’re doing this over skype so apologies for being a bit juddery at times, especially at the start. We do get better, honest.

In Alpha Protocol, if you haven’t specced your character for maximum murder and find yourself stuck on the Brayko fight, there is a way to cheese it.
Head to the bottom left corner from your starting position and crouch behind the barricade right at the point it joins with the wall. If you hit the sweet spot, Brayko’s pathfinding won’t let him run around the barricade and he’ll just run at you impotently swinging, allowing you to line up a critical with the weapon of your choice. Naturally, he and his goons can still shoot at you, but it’s a brilliant if cheap way of stopping his berserker run without taking damage.
Either that or get on Steven Heck’s good side first, that’ll let you spike Brayko’s coke, making him collapse half way through the fight.
I got him to glitch running into the bottom of the stage, and beat him to death incredibly slowly from behind.
Football – An obscure multiplayer team game on a bizarre grass based medium, simple ruleset, but stunning emergent gameplay. Needs more achievements and persistent unlockables – 78%
How to beat every boss: get high in pistols, use the super aim/slow mo thing to line up 5 headshots, win. That took most bosses out in one use, at the most it took 2.
Yeah I did it pretty much the same way.
Kung Fu usually isn’t worth it, stealth takedowns are instant anyway and it doesn’t work that well on bosses.
For those wanting to learn more about Ultima or just enjoy a good read here are those hilarious LPs me and Richard were enthusing about, in order -

The line I really wanted to quote from the Let’s Play, but blanked on at the last second:
STEVE: “Looks like we’re making Rice Chrispies!”
SPARK “…what?”
STEVE: “I’m baking with your father’s blood.”
Ed and Richard sound far too alike for when I’m not actively paying attention. My ears kept thinking that Ed was Richard and vice versa. This needs fixing. Can one of you have a vocal transplant of some sort?
In other news, quite enjoyed Cobbett’s knowledge of pretty much everything. Very eloquent and nice to listen to. Such a shame that damn Craig guy kept speaking :P
