Whoa! It’s all gone crazy around here. Everything has changed. It’s all shiny and…professional looking. Like we’ve grown up or something crazy like that. Well, I thought it was about time we had a reshuffle, if not an evolution. In fact, there are more changes than meet the eye; I’ll explain.

DESIGN
The obvious one. We have a brand spanking new look; it’s clean, lovely, proper looking. I think the quality of the articles here – apologies for horn blowing – were better than what the standard blog look suggested. First impressions count for a lot, and if that first impression is amateurish then no doubt it will spill into the content. Our writers deserved better than that, so they got it. Also, as with any overhaul there might be some lingering bugs; do let me know in the comments if you notice any. Cheers.
TAGLINE
We’ve never had a decent tagline. They were ok, but never really meant anything and sort of fizzled out. Now though it’s snappy and honest. We love PC gaming and we want to position Gaming Daily at the center of it. And sure, we don’t have the latest news or bleeding edge previews; but we have good articles that you can just sit back, relax, and read – just like kicking back at home with a lovely cup of tea.
PROMOTION
Work work work. A website like this takes a surprising amount of maintenance when it starts to get popular. I wont go into it, because you probably don’t care; but it does. So, in light of this there has been a promotion of sorts. Ed has been writing for Gaming Daily for positively ages, and not only that but he has been supportive and driving ideas to improve it. He’s now Deputy Editor; helping me keep this place ticking over and making everyone happy. This is a huge step for us, and while I’m still at the helm – flinging my will and demands in any direction I see fit – there is someone there to both buffer the stupid ideas and contribute better ones. Congratulations to Ed.
SUBMISSIONS
Words. We need more words. We want to expand and the only way to do that is with more content. In the past we have limited our writers strictly to people who will consistently write a post a week. Well, that’s changed – we are accepting freelance submissions now (as well as openings for regulars) so we can bring you more word things for you to consume. We already have some people in the pipeline so you should be seeing the fruits of this endeavour soon.

Site looks great! I always knew that Fenning was a climber.
I’m not a great one. Don’t have the lung capacity for it.
My only problem is that it’s REALLY white! But then again, I was used to the old style, and really like black. Give me 2 years and I’ll be fine.
Looking forward to seeing the new stuff. Any chance of podcasts becoming slightly regular? I rather enjoyed the stuff you did before. Also, buffer the stupid ideas? Isn’t that what the editor is for? Articles like ‘Stay playing for 48 hours’ are great for when you feel like punishing someone.
Podcasts are rather difficult to organise. I’d love to get them going again, it’s just difficult.
And in stupid ideas I meant the ones like “to encourage comments I’m going to do a popup when someone scrolls to the bottom of the page that says ‘comment you twat!’” or “to increase revenue I’m going to put ads between every paragraph that are 2 inches high and flash products randomly in neon colours”. You know, that sort of thing.
I liked the black also by the way. The last theme did us well, just think it’s time to move on. TO THE FUTURE!
I thought you already did both of those…
Fair play to you though. And to Ed. Have fun with podcasts :P
Yessir. This looks fantastic. Drug Crazed Dropkick has an interesting suggestion. A black theme! Or even a dark theme so that white doesn’t glare. I’m guessing a Greasemonkey script can fix that, though.
We’ve just come from a black theme!
He is right, it was just black. I’ll just survive.
*Makes note to create Greasemonkey script*
