I’m an professional: Mission 7

Since the last episode of I’m a cleaner my savegame has decided that in fact, I haven’t done Mission 7 – Death on the Missisipi. Well, that’s lies – I documented it for gods sake. This means that to carry on I need to do the mission again, but wanting to get through it as quickly as possible I decided to do it in a no fucking around Hitman stylee. Here’s what happened.

Hitman: The first bodyguard

I have seven targets to take all in all. 6 bodyguards and their captain Skip Muldoon. I’m on the deck of a steamliner heading down the Missisipi – the crescent mood tinting my surroundings an eerie blue and the pitch black water running underneath. There are a few sailors on the deck and in a minute one of the bodyguards comes strolling past; his garish red cap picking him out. I follow the target under a bridge to a door which leads to an engine room, and as he grasps the handle I fire my silenced .45 into the back of his skull. He lurches forward with the force of the impact, bouncing off the now blood smeared wall. Holstering my pistol I leave the body in plain view and head inside.

Hitman: Dates gone bad

Two large sets of stairs loom before me, between them some double doors which lead to a long corridor lined on each sides with bedrooms. I head through; towards the back a couple are getting close – one of them a bodyguard. Heading over they decide to take themselves into a room and as I follow them in they don’t notice me until the door shuts. A shot slams into the womans head, sending her straight to the ground then another pounds into the bodyguard before he can pull his gun. The shot landed in his stomach though and he’s stiull standing while reaching for his revolver. I plant another shot into his head sending him tumbling over a table before he can pull it.

Hitman: far too busy

The rest of my targets are behind a heavily populated and guarded VIP area which I need a pass to get through. Heading back into the long corridor I go right to the back, through another set of doors and into the VIP suites. A bellhop is manning the area and cleaning rooms – entering with his master keycard. I stand around and watch him, waiting for him to go somewhere a little more quiet. Eventually he goes to the bathroom, blood spurts against the cubicle wall and he falls, slamming his head on the toilet. Using his card I can get into one of the bedrooms and steal a VIP pass, getting me in.

Hitman: the bellhop

It’s not enough for me to be in the VIP area though, I need to either get through a kitchen or past an armed guard to get to the upper deck which holds the remaining targets. I opt for the kitchen, having to kill a chef as I go and hiding the corpse in a freezer – I couldn’t risk him calling an alarm at me being in there. Outside the kitchen a bodyguard is patrolling and runs up to me as soon as he sees me. I gun him down mid sprint.

Hitman: No more cooking for you

Up some stairs I can finally see the captains cabin, along with shotgun armed bodyguard by the door. He sees me and comes running though fortunately not firing. I start to walk away just to get out of line of sight of the cabin, then turn and face the guard. I can’t just pull my gun – not while he’s holding the shotgun ready. Instead I grab it out of his hands and as he reaches for his pistol I let a couple of shots from my .45 go. He falls and throwing the shotgun to the floor I head towards the cabin.

Hitman: You're in my way

A guy comes out of nowhere. A bodyguard. I’m lucky, he didn’t see the incident with the shotgun so just politely asks me to leave. I tell him no in my own special way then head inside. The bathroom is empty, the main room is empty, and the only room that’s left is the captains bedroom. Entering I see him with his back towards me, watching TV. I stand and take my time. A deep breath. The Captain dives forward with the impact of the bullet, blood spurts over the TV screen and he splays out, face down on the carpeted floor. A shout comes from behind me – a bellhop. As he runs away I shoot him in the back. No witnesses and everyone dead. I leave.

Hitman: All done
