Hitman: Blood Money is one of those games that never gets old. It’s brilliant and I can’t count how may times I’ve played it through. I’m now playing it again – this time on expert and with the rule that I don’t save and try not to restart a level. The joy of the game is working through the chaos you create so here goes. If you have still never played Blood Money – get a copy as this is going to be spoiler filled and you are more than missing out.
Mission 1
I’m tasked with removing an Italian Don and his drug dealing son. They are tucked up in a sun baked Mediterranean villa but fortunately are throwing a party for something. This is my excuse for being there but in all honesty I will probably be skipping the festivities.

I know I need to get inside the main buildings, and while the ruse of being a guest will get me in to the courtyard, it wont get me inside. With this in mind, instead of going straight in, I skirt left around the villa. There is a patrolling guard here with his hard friend Mr Shotgun. I follow him to the end of his patrol and shove a big needle in his neck, knocking him out but not killing him. Ha, Mr Shotguns not going to save you now! Stupid guard.I steal his clothes, hat, and Mr Shotgun then head back to where I began. Now I can go through the main gate, through the party and in to the bowels of the villa. So far so good.

I notice Target 1 (the drug dealing son) escorting a party-goer through the inner corridors to sample some ‘product’ in a hidden drug plant. I follow them presenting myself as the targets body-guard to anyone that might be paying an interest (no one). After the son leaves the new customer to sample he starts making his way back outside. I run a little in front and hide behind some big barrels. He walks past, notices me, notices me pull my pistol from my jacket, goes for his gun, falls to the floor. The silenced shot from the Silverballer goes straight through his head. I hide the corpse in a box. No one comes running to gun me down so I assume I’ve gotten away with it. One down.

I move on into where the now dead target came from – the drug plant. I sneak in and change gear to a workers outfit I find lying around so I can move through un-noticed. I’m right under the main building where the Don is hiding but security isn’t going to let a measly worker into that section.
I find the stairs that lead up to the main building from the plant. They are manned by a single VIP guard who will have full clearance so I dutifully retire him from his post with a meeting with Sleepy Needle and I steal his clothes. I can’t sedate anymore people now (I’m all out of sleepy poison) but I shouldn’t need to – I’m a VIP guard. No one questions VIP guards except the don himself. I move through into the main building lobby via a kitchen, picking up a nice big knife on the way…you never know.
I slip through the main villa and up to the top floor without so much as a second glance from security. One picked lock later and I’m in a bedroom standing directly behind Target 2 as he plays his Cello. He is looking out onto his balcony, the Mediterranean sun pouring through the open doors and he plays his music. I approach, grab his forehead and slide the kitchen knife through his throat. He doesn’t make a noise, doesn’t struggle, just rests his head on his cello as blood pools around where he sits.

I leave the body on the chair and promptly start to make my exit. I could go back for my suit and leave in style but it’s more risk than it’s worth. I have to get to my escape point – the dead dons private, guarded, jet. I just stay disguised and head straight for the plane, no hassle. Gone without a trace.
End result – 2 kills, 1 shot fired which hit the head, no witnesses, no CCTV. Silent Assassin. Mission 2 awaits.
