I think hype could be a lot less annoying if it was used closer to a game’s actual releasedate. Say, 3 to 4 months. Chances are the hype will be closer to reality then (which actually would make it less, well, hyped) and wouldn’t leave the anxious gamer with blue balls, so to speak.

This, ofcourse, will never happen.

I still love when games have a manual, and you can read them while it installs. On consoles it would be the car ride home, shrink wrap all over the back seat.

I think ol’ Petey Pants just gets totally fucking excited about the game he’s in the process of making, and forgets about delays and cuts and restrictions and bugs and hiccups. If I was developing Morrowind, and we were gibbering in the staff room about co-op multiplayer and procedural caves, I’d probably let that slip to a journo by accident. Still, inexcusable gaming cock tease, Molyneux. Bad form.
