You mean like I did? Yeah, the problem with games being bigger and more open ended is that you can’t demo your game. I may have a look at a download and see what I think. It does look astounding. I just don’t want to pay more money for games at the moment, just in case they suck.

Mass Effect 2 can fill my little RPG hole when it comes out and my brother gets it.

In all honesty, I don’t think a demo for DA would work. I mean, sure it would give you a feel for the combat, but watching a video would do most of that. It just couldn’t get the ‘epicness’ of DA across in such a short space of time, unless they made it big. But then how much content and time should people be willing to give away?

That could turn into a 1000 word post easily but plenty of pepople have done that before.

To me, that just gives me more and more reasons to pirate it. Like I say, I think I’ll wait a few months. Not only because it’ll be cheaper, but also I can feel better about spending money on games. I might have a look at the char creator, and see what that’s like.

I might have a look at the specs and see if my dad can run it on his machine and give it as a birthday present. With the current state of demos this is probably a stupid question, but is there a demo anywhere?

Don’t be intimidated by it, it’s not hard to get to grips with. It really is wonderful – worth dropping everything to play.

Dragon Age looks like something my Dad will enjoy and be good at, and something that I can probably work out after 40 years. However, I’m not touching new games for at least 3 months, not with the collectors’ pack I’ve just got over Xmas. Hearing so many glowing reviews makes me think it should be an amazing experience though.
