Back to Vvardenfell – Killings

Feruren Oran is my first target for the Morag Tong. He’s holed up in a bar – The Elven Nations Cornerclub right here in Vivec. The bar is full of people, but what I’m doing is perfectly legitimate. I’m allowed to murder him, the government say so. My problem is that not everyone appreciates this. One of the mods adds loads of NPC’s to the game, some of whom are bounty hunters and soldier types. They don’t seem to recognise the legitimacy of what I’m doing. This is going to be a problem.

Morrowind: Feruren

The mod that is causing the problem is too good to get rid of, and I figure that if I’m being an Assassin I don’t really want to be spotted anyway. I decide I’m going to play around this but and be extra careful of these mercenaries.

Morrowind: stupid NPC's

It takes a lot of waiting around until the bar is devoid of people who will cut me down if I start a fight with Feruren. I manoeuvre my way around him, crouch down, then stab him in the back with my tanto. Well, actually, I miss. Lurching forward with full force and my tanto just flies right past him. I suck at being an Assassin. Not to worry, we have a toe to toe fight for about 2 seconds. Feruren casts a fire spell on me and I drop dead almost instantly.

Morrowind: Vivec in the day

I have to reload back into the bar and just try my luck again. The same thing happens. Dam this guy is tough. Ok, new idea. This time I get around him, stab him in the back, then run away. He chases after me as I fire arrows in his general direction. Most miss but a few hit him. I somehow find the time to drink some restore health potions then after a bit more wild flailing he falls. My first Assassin mission done. I can join the Morag Tong.

Eno – the guild master of the Morag Tong, is proud of me. He officially accepts me into the guild and hands me two more contracts. One is for someone in far away lands and the other is for Toris Saren in the Redoran Canton here in Vivec.

Morrowind: vivec at night

Toris lives in a big Manor along with three other people. I attack him and am instantly overwhelmed when he calls out. I have to run away, have a sleep (which makes me stronger, more agile and faster for the second time) then go back and try to kill him again. This time I manage without much hassle, but the fact that I had to run away once was not a good sign.

Morrowind: my new dagger

With two people dead I head into Vivec via Strider to sell off some loot and take a wander around. It crosses my mind that I might be punching above my weight at the minute with these Morag Tong missions. Maybe I should look for an alternate occupation for a while until I’m generally better at offing people. I could join the fighters guild for a while I suppose, or do some jobs for The Blades. The Thieves guild is of course an option, but then again I need to be better at fighting – not just sneaking.

Morrowind: House Hlaalu

Thinking about it, in Balmora the Morag Tong branch is next to House Hlaalus council chambers, and the surname of the Grand Master is Hlaalu…maybe joining House Hlaalu might be a good option….why the hell not.
