Ridiculous installs means making pizza

Earlier today I fancied a go on Gears of War. I’ve had it a while, and got quite far into it, but lost all my progress when I had to re-install windows. On my old save however, I was playing through on hard mode, and to be honest I was starting to get a bit wound up with how hard it was getting.

When I set GoW to install, something flagged at the back of my head “this took ages last time”;. and indeed, it took ages this time. A full hour in fact. An hour! Just to install it. Ridiculous. However, it is a blessing in disguise, as while waiting, I found Papas Pizzeria, a free flash game available online (linkey)

Papas Pizeria

Sometimes the simplest games are truly inspired, and I must say this is one of them. You just spend your time taking orders, and making pizzas, then you get graded on your pizza and accumulate tips. Simple, genius.

To start with, I was just making Pizzas at a steady pace, one at a time. “Whats that Mr Old Man? One pizza cut into quarters with pepperoni? No problem”. Then more customers started coming. There demands more obscure, more challenging. My pizza oven can only fit four pizzas in, and there are loads of people. Agh. Pressure. All for minimum wage. I can’t work in these conditions.

While playing Papas Pizza, I had a thought. Why am I installing Gears anyway? I’ve got to complete Deus Ex. I have to finish that game, for the sake of myself and the fate of the world </drama>. So, Gears is going to remain installed, but rest for today, as J.C Denton of Deus Ex needs my full attention.
